Since I moved to New Plymouth, I have had heard  about Paritutu rock quite a lot and descriptions about the amazing view one could get from there, so I took my chance to visit and the experience was amazing. Paritutu rock is located just near the Taranaki port and it is quite an amazing climb with a fabulous view from the top.

So I have visited Paritutu about three times in the last two months and the experience climbing this place in New Plymouth is quite unforgettable especially for someone who is not quite fond of heights like me but unforgettable in a positive way. So, if you're looking for some easy outdoor activities I suggest you to visit Paritutu rock, recommending to visit there on bike which would give even more of an outdoor feel than just driving. Though it depends from where you're traveling as well as sometimes biking there would not be so convenient.

The climb takes about 15 to 20 minutes and is recommended for people from all age groups though if you're really scared of heights and climbing then you may not. For the first time when I climbed up and the experience coming down was a little scary but again there were little kids who were barely like 10 years old easily climbing up and down so it is not such an advanced task as well.

The view from the top of Paritutu rock is breath taking, where one could have a bird eye view of the Taranaki port, New Plymouth city, Sugar loaf islands which lies just next to Paritutu and the mighty Taranaki peak which looks absolutely beautiful from the top. If you're really into photography and filming, then this place is a paradise to get some really great shots. Carrying a GoPro and filming the climb is even awesome and if you have a drone, getting a video from the top flying a drone would even be better.

So for all the tourists visiting New Plymouth, it is highly recommended to try out this place, Paritutu rock where you definitely can see the paradise view of New Plymouth.
