The first ever re-union event of Gyanoday Niketan was held on the 3rd of November 2010, where the ex students of Gyanoday Niketan were invited. This event was especially organised as an event which would re-unite all the ex-students of GN and was an oppuntunity for the students to interact amongst themselves and the teachers.
This event was supposed to begin at 9am where the ex students and teachers would have to report at our school,Gyanoday Niketan, itself, for the registration for the alumini. Our former teachers like Mr. Ashish, Mr Phinzo, Mr Anand, Miss Lamu, Miss Kalyani, etc had also witnessed the event. Eventually, we were taken to the hall, at the roof top of the school building at around 10.30 am which began with a speech from Director Sir, Mr Dhiresh Thapa and then from the headmaster of the school, Mr Deven Gurung, who gave a brief introduction to the students about the alumini association being formed. Well, the Alumini association would be called "Gyanoday Niketan Alumini Association", abbreviated as (G.N.A.A.). Then, a slide show about our school was presented, which was an excellent one. This slide show performance had won the first position in the AHLIS competition which had the theme of our school and the slideshow was worth the first position when viewed.
Then, after a few words by one of our ex-teacher, Mr Anand Yonzone, the teachers nominated 15 executive members for the alumini, including myself, Nischal Gurung, to be one of its members. Miss Punyata Sundas was chosen as the President and Mr. Rahul Chettri as the vice president. Then, after the Alumini Association of Gyanoday Niketan was formed, we headed off for the disco. The disco was really fun where we danced and moved our hips with the music beats with our old friends and teachers, but in no time, Miss Proneeta announed tha the disco was over and we should proceed for lunch. Time really runs fast when enjoying.
Everyone of us ran for food, as we were all hungry and then we ate the lunch and then went for the rock show after lunch. The rock show was held at the school's ground with an open stage. The rock show started off with performances from the present day students of Gyanoday Niketan, and then by our old students, like Vivian, Deependra, etc and then our President of the alumini, Miss Punyata Sundas singing a lovely song. Finally, it was the time for our school's teachers' band to perform with Deven Sir in the vocals, and other teachers like Kesar Sir, Mahesh Sir and they totally rocked as usual.
After, all these, it was time to say good bye as the event had successfully ended but was a huge success. We all took photographs with our old friends, batchmates and teachers remembering our old days at Gyanoday. It was a very touching moment when we stood up to sing the school song, which we had not sang for years and went really emotional still felt good. Hope, there will be re-union conducted next year and every year ahead in the future too and hope we get to come back to pur old home Gynaoday. Shine oh sone oh Gyanoday!
