Facts About the 2010 Remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street

The 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street comes up with the more scarier version of the 1984's original. With casts like Jackie Earle Haley. Katie Cassudy and Kellan Lutz, this new version of this movie, gives it a new shape. With the original storyline with better features and improvement, A Nightmare on Elm Street released in 2010 gives the world a new view to the 1984 movie hitting the box office worldwide.



The Nightmare movie series had been very popular some decades ago, and in the year 2010, A Nightmare on Elm Street was remade which is directed by Samuel Bayer. This 2010 version of A Nightmare on Elm Street has film stars like Jackie Earle Haley, Katie Cassudy, Kellan Lutz and Rooney Mara.

     Like the other Nightmare movie series, this movie too is based on a dream, actually a nightmare. This movie is about teenagers who have a dreams where they are stalked by a man and murdered by him, and at last coming to know that they had a mutual link in their childhood that made them have this dream of this man, Freddy Krunger.

    It was decided that this movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street would follow the same design as what was followed in the remake of the movie, Friday the 13th but in the end, the same original storyline of the 1984's film was used, giving some addition to it to make the movie more scarier than the original one. This 2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street has several changes in Freddy Krunger's character, made more into a child molester than a child killer, to make Freddy's character more scary than the original one that was witnessed in the 1984's version.

A Nightmare on Elm Street was successfully remade and officially released on the 30th of April, 2010 in the North American countries. This movie was later released on the 8th of May, 2010 in the other part of the world. Well, after the film was released, it got a lot of negative reviews from critics and the general public, i.e., the audiences and just scored a C+ as a rating froma scale of A+ to F. According to the reviews that was posted in RottenTomatoes.com, this movies gets a rating of 3.7 out of 10. But overlooking the rating and critical point of view, the 2010 remake of A Nightmare at Elm Street made out to breaking a record fo midnight openings for a horror movie. This 2010 remake made more than $64 million at the national box office and made over $110 million internationally. This 2010 remake movie now ranks eight amongst the highest grossing slasher films worldwide. The movie also made out win the 'Best Horror Film' award at the People's Choice Award in the year 2011. With the popularity of this 2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street movie, various merchandises like actor figures of Freddy Krueger was made as this character had become very popular. Even an online game based on this movie and the character of Freddy is out.
