Kalimpong, a beautiful hill station in the Darjeeling district has come out to be one of those most visited hill stations in India, which is flooded with tourists these days. How to Reach Kalimpong:
The Bagdogra Airport is the nearest airport to Kalimpong which is about three hours drive by road. New Jalpaiguri Station is the nearest railway station from Kalimpong, from where plenty of buses, taxis and shared jeeps are available for travel by road, which is a journey of about three hours.

Places to see at Kalimpong:
   As mentioned earlier, Kalimpong is popular for having a Bhutanese influence in the town, where one may enjoy shopping for paintings and Bhutanese and Buddhism related article which are indeed like a souvenir which you can get from here. The Durbin hill is one of those favorite spot for tourists at Kalimpong, where the beautiful Durbin monastery is located, which has a history of being the first Buddhist monastery built here.      Deolo hill is another hill at Kalimpong that is most visited by tourists. Deolo hill is also a cliff from where the view of the entire town of Kalimpong can be seen on one side and the view of Sikkim and its rivers on the other side. Not to forget the beautiful Himalayas can be seen in its best view from Deolo. Deolo hill also has a tourist lodge and a restaurant and a huge park where the tourist will never get bored. The Science Centre located here adds to the fun where tourists can enjoy rides and stroll in the park.
   An hour journey from Kalimpong is Lava and Reshap which is another tourist hotspot, well known for resorts, trekking and extreme spots. Rafting along the Teesta river can be a complete fun package which is easily available at Teesta at cheap rates, so adventure is also another thing that should not be missed out while visiting Kalimpong. Kalimpong also has numerous flower gardens and nurseries that showcase beautiful flowers and botanically important plants so if one is a nature lover and want to experience the beauty of nature, one can have a visit at these places too.
