Kadmiel Van Der Puije interview on his book author

So your new book The Improbable Journey, was recently published. Tell us something about the book?
My book “The Improbable Journey” is a story about love as well as deceit which eventually culminates into suicide, As we all know, the family is the most important unit and when the trust is broken, repercussions can be deadly.

You run an independent publishing company, Naberm Publishing. How did it all start?
Yes! I started my company Naberm Publishing! We have all learned that traditional publishing methods often leave authors feeling alone, isolated or not cared about and my goal is to change the publishing industry by helping each and every aspiring author worldwide to get their story out to the world.  When you publish with Naberm, we welcome you into the Family of Authors and we will not only love your book as much as you do, we will love you.

Did you always want to become a writer and what inspired you to be one?
Yes! Coming from a family of authors, I always use to write, I read every book I can get my hands on. I believe that every author has something to say, and I read their book until I find it. Every book has value, and there is a special readership for each person with writing talent.
I get inspired by my day to day adventures.

What is that draws you to this genre and is there any authors who inspired you to be inclined to this genre?
Shakespeare inspired me the most, because all his stories end in tragedies; as a child, my mother always read fairy tales to me which always ended with “happily ever after” but as I matured I realized that life does not always have “happy endings” and so in my little way, I would love to bring a balance to the happily ever after.

There are lots of bestselling novels that are adopted into films. What’s your say on that?
I think it’s awesome! It gives us upcoming authors hope, inspiration and also motivates us to keep writing better stories.

If your novel The Improbable Journey was adapted into a movie, which actor/actresses would you like seeing playing the lead characters?
I am currently in the process of turning my book into a movie, but If I got the chance to make to take it on a Hollywood scale I would want Will & Jaden smith to play the father/son role!

Your book cover is really interesting and artistic. How did it come about and who designed it?
Kadmiel Van Der Puije author interviewThank You! The design team at publishing company actually designed it for me, I told them my vision and they brought it to life!

What do you think is the major advantage and disadvantage of self-publishing?
Self-publishing is tough at first, but you learn so much more about the publishing business. You can write what you want. You can get it edited and a printed at a fairly low cost. You pay more up front, but you don’t have a house making poor decisions regarding your book during the whole process. A major disadvantage however is you don’t get free marketing and exposure,

What do you think about ‘trailers’ for books? Do you have one or intend to create one?
I think it’s a great marketing technique, in this day and age most people would rather watch a movie based on a book than actually read it, so if you are able to create a suspenseful, professional trailer, I think It will definitely help you in sales, I don’t have one at the moment but It’s definitely on my to-do list!

What do you think about literary awards?
It’s another great marketing technique; it gives authors a chance to stand out.  I think every author should win an award just for writing a book but that’s just wishful thinking.

If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
This is a tough question, just because of the fact that I wish I came up with various stories before they were published but if I had to choose one I would say Romeo and Juliet because it’s simply great story and if I am not wrong, I am pretty sure that it is in every school literature book worldwide.

I personally as an interviewer and a blogger, who is from India and based in New Zealand, which are places with huge potential readership. How can people from around the worldget access to your book ?
My book is available on my website which is kadmielvanderpuije.com or on Amazon/Barnes&Noble/Ebay and Kindle!

How do you market your books and any tips for authors on that?
I use Instagram and Twitter for now, I am thinking of doing a national book tour but that will be later on.
What do you think about good and bad reviews?
I accept either of them with no offense taken, good reviews let me know that I am doing great and bad reviews help point out the spots in where I need to work on.

What’s your view on social media for marketing?
Social media, I would say is the best way to market anything at the moment, I read some time ago that there are more than 1 billion of facebook at the moment and more than 100 million people use instagram every month!
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
I see myself as a bestselling author and managing one of the top publishing companies internationally.

If you have to give one good reason why one should go get a copy of The Improbable Journey, what would it be?
The improbable journey deals with major topics that are not discussed in today’s society; I would encourage anyone interested in finding inspiration in their life to take a look into this book.

Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?

I want the world to know that God loves each and every one of you and no matter how hard life becomes, be persistent because success does not happen overnight and if for any reason, painful things happen do not take your own life, help is only a phone call away.
