Nightlife in Muscat: Top 10 Bars, Pubs and Night Clubs in the City

The capital city of Oman, may seem not much happening like Dubai but that doesn't mean Muscat has no nightlife. If you're in town and want to go out for a drink with friends or just party at a night club then there are plenty of places in Muscat where you can go to enjoy the nightlife of the city.

Few of the places where I would personally recommend to go and seek for some fun at the top 10 pubs and bars in Muscat which are:

1. Trader Vic's: Hotel InterContinental, Qurum

Trader Vic's is a popular tourist bar in Muscat located in Hotel InterContinental in Qurum. This place is really popular for its signature cocktails which you could try and take the taste as souvenirs. There is also live music playing and dance. If you're not done with just drinks, you can always try their amazing pub food as well. There isn't a dress code like wearing a tuxedo to enter Trader Vic's but don't come in shorts either.

2. John Barry: The Bar to Set the Night in Mood

John Barry is located in Hotel Grand Hyatt in Al Khuwair, Muscat. The place has an excellent decor, resembling the inside of a ship. Really popular for its piano player and singer inside the bar, playing some classic old songs to set the mood. The drinks are good accompanying with their amazing food. There isn't a dress code here as such so you can enter with formals or casuals and you can even see locals inside in dishdashas.

3.Piano Lounge: Shangri-La

Located in Shangri-La, Piano Lounge has a huge fancy indoor bar area with a piano player performing. Outside of it is an outdoor area overlooking the beautiful beach outside Shangri-La and a pool. Piano Lounge is a great place to get some great drinks at a reasonable price.

4. O'Malley's, Hotel Radisson Blu

O'Malley's is located in the ground floor of  Hotel Radisson Blu in Al Khuwair. This place is one of the few places in Oman which is in an Irish Pub style and decor. O'Malleys's is a great place to go for an evening out with friends to talk and enjoy some beer or whisky. O'Malley's has an Irish pub sort of decor with wooden bar counter and excellent staffs. 5. On The Rocks Restaurant and Lounge

On The Rocks Restaurant and Lounge is an excellent place for a night out in Muscat located just adjacent to Hotel Golden Tulip in Seeb. This place serves excellent drinks and cocktails with some great pub food. This place is basically a combination of a bar, restaurant and a lounge together. They also have great food  with the restaurant serving modern European cuisine with a mix of Indian and Chinese pub food as well. On The Rocks in Muscat also has DJ nights and events occasionally which is an icing to the cake.

6. Habana Sports Bar, Grand Hyatt, Muscat

Habana Sports Bar is a sports bar located in the ground floor of Grand Hyatt in Al Khuwair, Muscat. This place is awesome attracting the young crowd of Muscat with huge screens to catch up with various sport events happening on TV and also with billiard boards and table soccers for guests to enjoy. They do have great drinks and food but this place seems to be really crowded in the weekends.     Why Not Super Club is a night club located in the ground floor of Hotel Golden Tulip in Seeb, Muscat. You don't even have to enter the hotel as there is an entrance in the ground floor that goes straight to the club. Not a huge club, but Why Not Super Club has various drinks and cocktails priced at a comparatively lower rate that any other pubs and bars in Muscat. The club also has great music playing with a small dance floor. The club does not seem to have a strict dress code as such as I remember myself going to the place in shorts a couple of times. You can read my personal review on Why Not Super Club here Why Not Super Club at Golden Tulip Seeb, Muscat - Restaurant Review

8. Club Safari, Grand Hyatt

Club Safari is one of the most popular nightclubs in Muscat located in Hotel Grand Hyatt in Al Khuwair, Muscat. Themed like a jungle safari park as the name goes, this place is a great place for a night out with great music, amazing drinks and food and you could just have a drink and hit the dance floor. Thursday and Friday nights are really crowded but if you love crowded places with young crowd of Muscat on the floor, then Club Safari is a place to be.

9. Roof Top Club, Hotel Golden Tulip

Roof Top Club is another club in Hotel Golden Tulip in Seeb, Muscat. One needs to enter the lobby of the hotel and get up the elevator to the top and enter the club. Located in the rooftop of the hotel, Roof Top Club can get you an amazing view of Al Seeb and the airport area. The place has two bar areas, a smoking and a non-smoking area. This place is great for excellent drinks and food at really cheap prices. Read my personal review on Rooftop Club here Roof Top Club in Golden Tulip, Seeb Muscat - Restaurant Review
